about
“Without You” is a hard-driving pop/rock song about prospering in life by breaking free from those who hold you back and then proving them wrong. In some ways, it is similar to my song, “Karma,” in that the best revenge against the naysayers is succeeding in life on your own terms. When people try to strip you of your confidence, it is very demoralizing. You have to claw back your dignity, which is no easy task.
The song also leans in on female empowerment and liberation. You, and only you, can be in charge of your destiny. It’s important to have a support group, but I know that if I’m going to be successful, I have to put myself out there and take chances.
lyrics
Without You
City lights shine, telling me to come home
You said I’d never make it on my own
I have nothing to prove, I don’t need this anymore
Because without you, without you, without you
Without you
My heart won’t break from the shame you put me through
Without you
Got a smile on my face, got away with better days
Without you
I embrace my flaws, love me, you can’t take that away
Without you
I’m fine, I’m great, I’m good
Baby without you
Booked my one way ticket to my dream
You said I’d always be obsolete
I don’t need your advice cause it’s plan to see
That without you, without you, without you
Without you
My heart won’t break from the shame you put me through
Without you
Got a smile on my face, got away with better days
Without you
I embrace my flaws, love me, you can’t take that away
Without you
I’m fine, I’m great, I’m good
Baby without you
Without you
Overcame the pain that you put me though
Without you
Finally love myself
There’s nothing that you can do
Without you
I embrace my flaws, love me you can’t take that away
Without you
I’m fine, I’m great, I’m good
Baby without you
Baby without you
Without you
